Summary: Business process auditing is a subject of growing
literature. However, traditional and manual techniques prove to be unsatisfactory
insufficient, since they are costly, can be biased and
error-prone, and involve large amounts of time resources,
human and material resources. In this sense, the present study shows how the
process mining technique can be used, in an automatic way, in the audit of
government processes, based on an information system and a
a mining tool called ProM. From the verification techniques of
comparison, the actual processes and their official models of a governmental organization. The results obtained show some divergences between them, and indicate that the technique may to be used as an auxiliary means of auditing Business.
