Summary: The main objective of this work is to influence the quality of the information that is gives origin to a yearbook called Anuário Brasileiro de Segurança Pública. As specific objectives, data analysis and the standardization of the foreground data processing process and data data presented and the standardization of primary data processes can have an impact on the information. The present research is motivated by the influence exerted by the Anuário Brasileiro de Segurança Pública on the managers.
The research uses techniques of content analysis and discourse analysis to characterize the context in which the yearbook is produced, the repercussions that the statistics and the interpretations generate in the social environment and the perception of civil servants in the areas of intelligence and security. The work uses concepts obtained in the works of Fairclough (2001), Gadamer (1999) and Foucault (2012).
The methodology uses a descriptive-explanatory qualitative approach, with the intention of identifying the factors that determine or contribute to the occurrence of the phenomenon addressed by the present research: the recent increase in the amount of accessible information. The descriptive approach is applied in the presentation of the publications, followed by explanatory research, focused on the influences exerted on its consumers. The interviews aim to collect suggestions for improvements in obtaining and processing data related to crime. It is intended to present as a technical product a booklet suggestion to assist the process of reliability analysis of information sources to be sent to the sectors of doctrinal development in state intelligence.
