The problem is whether flexible work can be adopted in the Brazilian public sector even when there is not a law in order to rule this matter. The main objective is to analyse whether flexible work is already fully and unrestrictedly allowed by Brazilian Federal Laws and Regulations regarding public sector and public employees. In theoretical terms, there are contributions from scholars in the fields of Law, Management and Organizational Science, Social Science and Evidence-Based Practice. As for the methods and procedures, it is performed a bibliographic research with data analysis of Brazilian Federal Laws and Regulations regarding the public sector and public employees. Furthermore, there is a systematic review of flexible working literature in the last ten years. As for the results, scientific evidence shows that in general benefits are more frequent than disadvantages; the latter are related to perception and lack of familiarity; Brazilian Federal Laws and Regulations regarding public sector and public employees provide the authorization needed for flexible working, although it is crucial an efficiency control method; it is possible to provide that by i-deals, bundles of flexible arrangements and supervisor-worker agreements. Concerning those matters, this study suggests a conclusive technical report regarding fully and unrestrictedly possibilities of flexible work as a management strategy in the Brazilian public sector.
