Summary: Every day, firefighters face numerous risks in their activities. These risks are classified as physical, ergonomic, chemical, and psychological. In this scenario, due to a combination of factors, studies point to statistically significant relationships between firefighters` work and cancer pathology. In Espírito Santo, an internal survey of the human resources sector of the military firefighters` corporation identified that among the cause of death of 43 firefighters who died between 1998 and 2018, cancer was the second leading cause, with 19% of the cases, second only to traffic accidents, which victimized 23% of the observed population. In this context, the main objective of this work was to develop and evaluate a training program in health protection for firefighters related to prevention against harmful agents with carcinogenic action, arising from the firefighting activity. In theoretical terms, the impact evaluation model and reaction to training derived from Kirkpatrick`s propositions. As for the methods and procedures, this research is situated in the field of action research, having operationalized a training-learning process, associated with methods for evaluating evidence of learning related to cancer prevention for firefighters. The data were collected from a sample of 34 firefighters and analyzed according to the Wicoxon test, with the help of the R software. From the results, as an expected technological product, it was possible to deliver a formatted training that can be replicated to all members of the corporation.
