Summary: The student assistance policy is designed to reduce dropout and retention of students in higher education, since they guarantee the conditions of the lower class students stay and finish their courses, thus contributing to increase the family income. Therefore, the present study aimed to analyze the granting of the benefits provided in the PNAES through the data provided by the Department of Student Assistance (DAE) by the Section of Attention to Health and Social Assistance (SASAS) and the Single Undergraduate Office (SUGRAD) of UFES in Alegre. The numbers of students who received benefits were correlated, being these data contrasted among the Campus organs. The results showed inconsistencies between the data provided by the benefit-generating bodies and it was observed that even after students evaded the courses, they were still benefited from the lists of different organs, and these data also showed differences. Thus, the way to control such data needs to be better observed by Ufes, and the internal organs need an integrated system WHERE such data correlate.
