Summary: In this current information and knowledge age, the data itself is essential as an organizational resource and asset. Its quality must be pursued and supervised to achieve better results. For that, the modern organizations, as well as educational institutions, count on the Information System, which relies on users as the mostly responsible for the quality of the generated information. That said, this study focused on analyzing reports from School Register application of the Academic Information
System Q-Acadêmico, and identifying inconsistent informations coming from users actions or omissions, within IFES. This study is characterized as quality and quantitative with exploratory, descriptive, explanatory and applicable purposes. A survey was used to collect data from users and, in order to analyze system reports and other documents, a documentary analysis. The results clarified that users have profiles and favorable attitudes towards the maintenance of information quality. However, it
requires training and orientation to improve on performing the system's steps correctly. As for the reports itself, the project did not find relative excess of inconsistencies, but when those are verified in the actual documents generation, it is noticeable the importance of correcting both data and information. By the results, improvement actions were proposed to the verified problem.
