Summary: The main objective of this research was to verify the implementation of requirements in the reverse logistics of the auction notices promoted by the Centro Universitário Norte do Espírito Santo (CEUNES) regarding the acquisition of light bulbs, as well as the processes of their disposal according to the current legislation. The research developed was exploratory in its nature, with a qualitative character, being classified as a single case study: the CEUNES. The data collection was performed in two phases. In the first phase, a documentary research was carried out in order to identify all the requirements and guidelines for the incorporation of reverse logistics requirements in the auction notices launched for the purchase of light bulbs, as well as interviews with the civil servants that work at the Coordenation of Material Resources (Coordenação de Recursos Materiais - CRM) at CEUNES were performed in order to identify the knowledge these servants have of the current legislation. In the second phase, a diagnosis of the purchase and disposal of light bulbs of the Center was carried out. The study aimed at identifying how does the current procedure of purchase and disposal takes place at CEUNES. It also verified for the existence of a sector agreement between the Center and the light bulb management entity just as it was verified the existence of reverse logistics requirements in the auction notices launched by CEUNES for the purchase of light bulbs through a survey of electronic auctions. The results showed that CEUNES does not insert any requirements of reverse logistics in its auction notices and does not have a contract with the light bulbs managing entity and, therefore, there is a need to adjust accordingly. Another need perceived was the performance of specific training of the servants that work at CRM/CEUNES sector so that they can identify and include requirements of reverse logistics adequately in the auction notices launched by CEUNES, in order to comply with the National Policy for Solid Residues (Política Nacional dos Resíduos Sólidos - PNRS) and the sectoral agreement in public contracting. This study also revealed the need for CEUNES to carry out the adequate waste management and the accountability of the supplier for the proper disposal of the waste generated.
