Summary: Students enrolled in student assistance programs face several difficulties, such as adapting the change from high schoolto higher education, relationship difficulties, a possible change of residence, among others. Each student has distinct resilience characteristics that may help to face these difficulties which interfere in academic satisfaction. Thus, the general objective of this work was to verify the influence of personal resilience and academic experience on the satisfaction of students enrolled in student assistance program of Federal University of Espírito Santo (Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo -UFES). Theoretically, this research presents main concepts and particularities used for the development of the work. Regarding the methods and procedures, we used a quantitative approach, in which an online questionnaire was applied to students enrolled in UFES student assistance program for data collection, with a final sample of 493 questionnaires. We performed the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique for the analyses, using the Smart-PLS software. The results showed that personal resilience positively influences the students academic experience and this experience positively influences the satisfaction of students with the University. On the other hand, we found that personal resilience does not influence satisfaction directly, only indirectly, through academic experience. Therefore, academic experience is a mediator in this relationship. The proposed model was able to explain 65.20% of the students satisfaction with the University. Considering these results, we prepared a technical report, containing the main findings of the research to be delivered to the managers of the University. This report can provide support for future decision-making, in order to guarantee the satisfaction and permanence of students enrolled in student assistance program of the institution.
