Summary: Knowledge has come to be seen as a strategic tool, being used as a mechanism to increase productivity, innovation and improve organizational results. Thus, organizations, both public and private, have given more attention to Knowledge Management (KM), which has now a primordial role in the intellectual capital management. Within this context, it might say that the technical-administrative memory is more delicate in public institutions than in private companies, because it’s harder to pass knowledge on when there is a high employee turnover. Managing tools appropriate to this purpose are a way to maintain this memory. The issue in the Federal University of Espírito Santo (FUES) is that some sectors are already using guides, manual and procedures routine, but in the North University Center of Espírito Santo (NUCES) it is hardly seen. The Material Resources Division – Sectorial North (MRDN) is responsible for the center warehouse services. However, the division does not use tools that can guide the routines and procedures of the services most performed in the NUCES warehouse. That said, the purpose was to map the process of receiving materials and operational flow in the information systems used in the warehouse routines. For this, as methods and procedures, a descriptive approach analysis was done, through the collection of documental, bibliographic and participant research data. The object of study was a case study. The theoretical input included knowledge management, routines organization and procedures, and materials management. In the warehouse’s intern routine and procedures guide, contains the technical product from this thesis, WHERE they were standardized using flowcharts to describe the processes related to the solicitation and receipt of stockable consumer goods; permanents and defined consumption purchases of consumer goods receipt. It was described a step by step for each one of the duties, with a help of screen captures, the information systems used in the institution’s warehouse: Information System for Education (ISE), Administrative Portal of Fues, and Bill of Sale Portal. This research presents adherence to the research line, technology, innovation and public sector operations, placed in the Structuring Project 3, Actions and final programs and government support. It’s expected to have developed a guideline to guide the MRDN servers in terms of standardization, systematization of routines and warehouse services inside the division and, with that, contributed with the sector in terms of your productivity and quality in the decision-making process. Once the guide will give the technician autonomy and confidence to perform his or her duties.
