Summary: Supervised internship is a very important moment for undergraduate students,
since it is their first contact with professional from the area, enabling cooperation between theoretical and practical knowledge. Allied to this, Law nº11.788/2008 started to regulate practical activities and determined that: “internship is a supervised educational act“ and thus the Federal University of Espírito Santo (Ufes) started to qualify students, integrating the knowledge acquired in classroom with the activities developed during the internships. The
problem found consists in centralizing operationalization and approval of administrative activities related to the mandatory and non-mandatory supervised internship at the Internship Division and the Undergraduate Dean Campus (Prograd) of Ufes, in Vitória. Therefore, the centers located on the Dean Campus do not suffer impact but those located in the municipality
of Alegre, such as Center for Exact, Natural and Health Sciences (CCENS) at Ufes has already noticed problems arising due to being far from the Dean Campus. Hence, the field analysis was located at CCENS and the main objective of this study is to diagnose how the procedures related to the supervised internship at CCENS occur and to propose creating the “General
Internship Coordination” for the Center. In this context, there was one theoretical work initially addressing organizations, the organizational structure of public administration and their need for improvement through decentralization. Then, it was relevant to understand the emergence
and how the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) work, consequently focusing on the public sphere and entering into the reality of Ufes and CCENS. Afterwards, a research was carried out on supervised internship and its practical outlines, through a case study applied at the Single Undergraduate Secretariat (Sugrad) and an analysis of the Pedagogical Projects of the
Courses (PPC), the Regulations and Standards of Internship, the Internships Resolutions, the report from Educational Information System (SIE), the Internship Control System and the check lists. Afterwards, maps were made using Geographic Information System (GIS), seeking to demonstrate the reality of internships at CCENS. As a result, it was confirmed that the
administrative activities need to be decentralized and less bureaucratic, and to be developed at CCENS, on the other hand the academic activities also need to be better structured, besides expanding the fields of internship. Based on this result, a Conclusive Technical Report: Analysis of Activities Related to the Supervised Internship and Draft Project: Proposal to Create the General Internship Coordination of CCENS/ Ufes was elaborated as a technical product.
