Summary: In Brazil, the Federal Constitution of 1988 (CRFB), in its article 5, provided for the
inviolability of privacy, private life, honor and image of people, ensuring them
subsequent compensation for moral and material damages in cases where this
violation causes harm to you. The UFES Dentistry Institute (IOUFES), a federal public
agency, supplementary to the UFES Dentistry Course, has as one of its activities the
management of the entry of new patients for the practical activities of said course,
receiving and generating a considerable volume of personal information every year. It
turns out that most of the servers and collaborators responsible for receiving this
information may be unaware of the civil and criminal responsibilities of handling this
data carelessly or appear to have a superficial knowledge of the guidelines and
procedures required by the General Data Protection Law (LGPD). The objective of this
research project will be identify which strategies for the protection of personal data are
being implemented at IOUFES to adapt to the LGPD. This is, therefore, a qualitative,
descriptive and exploratory research, with a temporal perspective cross-sectional.
Primary and secondary data will be used, such as interviews, observations and
documents, in a non-probabilistic sample. Content and documentary analysis will be
performed on the collected data, and from the results found, it is expected to find
important contributions to answer the proposed research question. Finally, it is
expected to obtain a Technical Report with the results, addressed to the Director of
IOUFES, so that he is aware of the status of IOUFES in relation to the protection of
personal data, and can decide whether or not to implement some strategies for the
adaptation to the LGPD of this body, or so that he can correct those that are not being
effective.
